Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream Butter and Sugar:
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla:
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
- Combine Dry Ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients:
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in Chocolate Chips:
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Scoop the Dough:
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers still look soft.
- Cool:
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
